built to work + disappear
no show is built around five UV filters. most sunscreen use one or two. here's what each one does and why it's in here.
AVOBENZONE:
UVA FILTER
the only FDA-approved organic filter that targets UVA1 rays i.e. the deepest, most damaging end of the UV spectrum. this is the ingredient that actually addresses what's aging your skin. most sunscreens don't have it.
OCTOCRYLENE:
UVB FILTER + STABILIZER
avobenzone breaks down in sunlight on its own, which is a problem most sunscreen formulations ignore. octocrylene stabilizes it, keeping it active throughout the day. without this, you're protected for an hour. with it, you're protected for longer.
HOMOSALATE:
UVB FILTER
an organic UVB filter that absorbs the rays that cause burning and surface-level skin damage. works alongside octocrylene to cover the UVB side of the spectrum while avobenzone handles UVA.
ETHYLHEXYL SALICYLATE:
UVB FILTER + STABILIZER
another UVB filter that also helps stabilize avobenzone in the formula. pulls double duty and adds UVB protection and keeps the UVA coverage intact throughout the day.
ZINC OXIDE:
BROAD-SPECTRUM MINERAL FILTER
covers both UVA and UVB rays. adds a second layer of UVA coverage and rounds out the filter system. this is what makes the protection comprehensive rather than selective.
NIACINAMIDE:
ACTIVE SKIN IMPROVEMENT
this is what makes this even better than sunscreen. reduces pore appearance, supports the skin barrier, and improves tone over time. daily use compounds and skin actively improves while being protected.
SODIUM HYALURONATE:
DEEP HYDRATION
a smaller molecule than standard hyaluronic acid, which helps to keep your skin hydrated. penetrates deeper into the skin rather than sitting on the surface. skin holds hydration better over time. by week three, it's noticeable. not dramatic. just better.
SILICA + FILM FORMERS:
INVISIBLE FINISH
this is the mechanism behind the invisible finish. silica mattifies and absorbs oil. the polymer film sits flat on skin. no white cast, no residue, no shine.
this isn't a marketing claim, it's what no show's formulation is engineered to do.
